Tecamachalco is one of the 217 municipalities into which the Mexican state of Puebla is divided, capital of the homonymous municipality, its name means "in the jaw of the hill", its main historical monument is the Statue of Benito Juárez and Vicente Guerrero, located in the park Juárez, the museum of pre-Hispanic pieces, on August 15 they celebrate the festival dedicated to the Virgin of the Assumption of Mary, masses are celebrated and cockfights, horse races, bicycle races and dancing are organized, as a tourist attraction they have the ex-Franciscan convent, dating from 1530, the Church of Calvario, and parish of the Asunción, the Moral and Tlacomulco haciendas foundry.

Festivities
