Every year, hundreds of people from different places come to witness the Ritual of the Slaughter that marks the beginning of the Mole de Cadera festivities, a typical Puebla dish made with the meat of goats raised in the region. For this festival, more than seven thousand goats are sacrificed amidst dances, prayers and songs.
