Dating back to the 19th century, it was known as the Casa de los Altos, as it was the first two-story building in the city. In 1855 it became the seat of municipal powers. A Moorish-inspired building, the entrance is preceded by a portico with a vaulted ceiling with trilobed arches, covered on the inside by a mural depicting the evolution of Tehuacán and its five regions from pre-Hispanic times to the present day.

Municipality
