The parish church in honour of Saint James the Apostle, built in the 16th century by Dominican friars, is open permanently during the day and 365 days a year. Its interior features an ornate finish, consisting of gilded plant reliefs and three magnificent baroque altarpieces.

Municipality

Teopantlán is one of the 217 municipalities of the Mexican state of Puebla, it is located in the center of the state, the main historical monuments it has is the parish temple in honor of Santiago Apóstol built in the 16th century, on July 25 it is celebrated the patron saint's holiday in honor of Santiago Apóstol, but the most important festival of the municipality is celebrated the first week before Ash Wednesday which is called Altepeilhuilt and lasts a full week, with fireworks, masses, popular dance, fair and dances of the Moor and the Vaqueros, as well as a pedestrian half-marathon with a route of 20 km, not forgetting to mention the classic jaripeo.
