What is now the Parish of Tepexi was once a Dominican Convent, as it was this religious order that completed its construction after the Franciscans began it in 1591. Currently, the main nave of the church is almost entirely preserved, part of the rectory was destroyed and replaced with modern elements, while the rest of what was once the Convent is in ruins.
