At the Tlapalcalli Museum, also known as the House of Paintings, you can find the paintings and sculptures of Rafael Bonilla Cortés, an artist from the municipality of Tetela de Ocampo. The museum is located 15 minutes from the Municipal Palace and recently, through the Rafael Bonilla Arte y Cultura A.C. foundation, some cultural and artistic activities have been resumed.
Tetela de Ocampo, in its Nahuatl voice means abundance of hills, is located in the heart of the Sierra Norte of the state of Puebla, it has several architectural buildings such as the church dedicated to the Virgin of the Assumption, the Municipal Palace and the Temple of Tetela dedicated to the Virgin of the Assumption, the access bridges to the municipality, the statue of Lic. Benito Juárez, the monument to the 3 Juanes, it has a House of Culture, the Carreragco caves, the Nanahuatzingo caves, the caves of Tempextla, the basin of the Zempoala River, the Springs of the Cañada del Río Papaloateno, the teteles of Nanahuacingo where human sacrifices were made and the view of Sotolo from where the sea of Veracruz can be distinguished
May 5th and September 16th are celebrated with dances, parades, etc. August 15th, the day of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, is celebrated with dances of the negritos, the tejoneros, the toreros, the santiagueros, the quetzales, the voladores, the huehues, the palo encebado, cockfights and horse races. Easter is commemorated on November 1st, All Saints' Day on December 12th, the Virgin of Guadalupe and Christmas.
