A beautiful sculpture of Jesus Crucified, Lord of Huaxtla, is venerated. In 1701, the priest Don Domingo Martin Fonseca ordered the construction of the first chapel, which was a small wooden house with grass. In 1822, brick was laid in the presbytery and a bell was placed in 1826. In 1846, a niche was placed and a stained glass window was added. In 1851, the pulpit and side altars were placed. In 1852, the main altar was finished. In 1894, the main bell was cast.
