Tochtepec is a municipality in the state of Puebla, its name is derived from the Nahua voices Tochtli which means Rabbit, Tepetl, Hill and C, where we have “On the Hill of Rabbits”, the main architectural construction is the Parish Temple erected to Saint Mary of Guadalupe dating from the 18th century, from which the patron saint festival of December 12 with grape harvests and burning of castles is derived.
The second Friday of Lent is the patronal feast day in honour of the Immaculate Mary and the Lord of Health, and the Christmas holiday is on 25 December, when festivals are celebrated in the four neighbourhoods; on 24 June, Saint John, on 25 July, Saint Christopher, on 13 June, Saint Anthony, and on 29 September, Saint Michael; Holy Week is solemn. On 1 and 2 November, it is commemorated with floral offerings on All Saints' Day.
