Municipality

Yehualtepec is one of the 217 municipalities belonging to the state of Puebla, its name is formed from the Nahuatl roots yahualli, roundness, circle; tepetl, hill, and C; which means: "In the roundness of the hill", it has various architectural constructions such as the parish temple of San Simon, built in the 16th century; the temple of San Mateo Tlacomulco, dating from the mid-16th century and early 17th century; the temple of San Gabriel Telzoyocan, from the 18th century and that of San Juan Ocotlán, from the early 19th century, the main patronal festival in honor of San Simon and San Judas Tadeo is on October 28, with masses, music bands, rockets and fireworks.
