Municipality

Zacapala is one of the municipalities in the Mexican state of Puebla, its name comes from the Nahuatl radicals "zacatl", cornfield straw, grass, and "palani", which means to rot: which means: "grass or cornfield straw that rots", its main historical construction is the church of San Juan Evangelista, which dates back to the year 1700 and from which the celebration of San Juan Evangelista begins on December 27, with masses, dances, rodeos, cockfights, mechanical games, fireworks, dances.
