Zacapala, Puebla

I consider Las Posas a tourist spot because its rock formations make it very attractive and pleasant to walk (climb the rocks) and see the small streams of water (especially during the rainy season). The streams lead the water to a dam known as Barranca Santa Ana Dam.

Municipality

Zacapala is one of the municipalities in the Mexican state of Puebla, its name comes from the Nahuatl radicals "zacatl", cornfield straw, grass, and "palani", which means to rot: which means: "grass or cornfield straw that rots", its main historical construction is the church of San Juan Evangelista, which dates back to the year 1700 and from which the celebration of San Juan Evangelista begins on December 27, with masses, dances, rodeos, cockfights, mechanical games, fireworks, dances.

Festivities

On December 27th, Saint John the Evangelist is celebrated with masses, dances, rodeos, cockfights, mechanical games, fireworks, and the dance of the "12 pairs of France"; the fourth Friday of Lent is celebrated in a similar way to the previous one.
