Ciénega Grande is located on land adjacent to the Camino Real towards Zacatecas, which is currently located in the municipality of Asientos. The Municipality of Asientos is one of the 10 municipalities into which the state of Aguascalientes is divided. Its name comes from Our Lady of Belén de los Asientos de Ibarra, hence its current name.
