Within the municipality of Atzitzintla, there are still haciendas that were once full of pre-Revolutionary life and can still be visited for the delight of lovers of historic buildings.
Atzitzintla is one of the 217 municipalities of the Mexican state of Puebla. It is located in the east of the entity, in this municipality the Large Millimeter Telescope is built, built jointly by the National Institute of Astrophysics, Optics and Electronics (INAOE) and the University of Massachusetts, without taking into account the traditional constructions such as the parish of San Antonio, which dates back to the 16th century; the chapel of the Gentiles from 1700. As attractions for tourism, the municipality has a lodge for practicing mountaineering, this is located on the slopes of the Citlaltépetl volcano.
On December 13th, the patronal festival is celebrated in honor of Saint Anthony, with processions with the image through the streets of the town with fireworks and floral decorations. On September 15th, national holidays are celebrated; on November 1st and 2nd, the day of the dead is celebrated with floral and food offerings; on December 12th, in honor of the Virgin of Guadalupe; Holy Week, Christmas and New Year.
