Upon the arrival of the Franciscan order in the 16th century, this grand convent was built. Inside, it has an atrial cross that denotes the tequitki art, posas chapels with Franciscan symbols, a crenellated wall and a façade typical of plateresque art.

Municipality

Calpan is a municipality in the western part of the state of Puebla, Mexico, it has various monuments, the main historical monument of the Municipality is the Convent of San Andrés or Franciscan Convent of Calpan, built in the 16th century, inside there are works of art , mainly religious sculptures and stone reliefs and of which on weekends there are guided tours of the "Posas Chapels", The popular patron saint festival is November 30, the feast of San Andrés Apóstol, there are also recreational activities such as walks the Acteopan Canyon and its Springs, Camps, Horseback Riding, guided tours of the Ex-convent, guided tours of the "Grandfather's Farm" and the "Grandfather's Garden".

Holy Week is solemnized. On November 1st and 2nd, very colorful offerings are erected in memory of the faithful departed.
