Caltepec is one of the 217 municipalities of the Mexican state of Puebla, it is located in the southeast of the entity, the municipality has a great vegetation diversity, predominating the low deciduous forest, its most important construction is the parish of Santa María de la Asunción data of the 16th century, likewise the important festivals in this municipality are August 15, in commemoration of the patron saint of the Assumption Caltepec, with masses and processions and the Holy Week festivities.
