Caxhuacan is one of the 217 municipalities that make up the Mexican state of Puebla. Its name is interpreted as Lugar de cajetes or "Place where the holders of Cajetes are found", the type of vegetation present in Caxhuacan is medium and tall evergreen jungle with secondary vegetation. arboreal and bushy, it has various archaeological sites such as the Kaltziyat cave located towards the Cempoala River, under the shadow of Xihuixcol, and Shashanchiwix, although this site is on land in the neighboring municipality of Zozocolco de Hidalgo, it is closer to Caxhuacan, and eco-tourist places such as the air cave, the Cajacán and Xihuixcol viewpoints and the Cempoala river
On October 4th, there is a patronal feast in honor of Saint Francis of Assisi, with masses, prayers, processions, fireworks and dances of quetzalcoatls, flyers, weavers, huehues, bullfighters and Saint Michael.
