Garrafon is Isla Mujeres' natural park, and owes its name to an invaluable reef that, due to its minimal depth and gentle current, allows us to get close to the underwater life of the Caribbean Sea. It is located at the southern tip of the island, 6 km from the center. It has a majestic coral reef where you can practice diving and snorkeling, while observing the great diversity of marine species that live there.

Municipality

The Municipality of Isla Mujeres is one of the ten municipalities that make up the state of Quintana Roo, the name was designated by the Spanish conquerors who upon arriving on the island found a large number of clay statues in the shape of women, it has a great variety of tourist places such as Hacienda Mundaca, Punta Sur, Isla Contoy, Cruz de la Bahía, Farito, Tortugranja, Garrafon Park, Manchones Reef, Cave of the Sleeping Sharks, the Underwater Museum of Art (MUSA), in December the Virgin of the Immaculate Conception, patron saint of the island, is celebrated.
