In March, the Spring Festival is celebrated in the municipal capital. Traditional dances include: the dance of the pig's head, in which people dance around a cooked pig's head decorated with confetti, which a man usually holds on his head while dancing. Another dance is La Cinta, in which people dance and weave figures with multi-colored ribbons that come off the tip of a pole about 10 meters long. Also common are the Yucatecan-influenced jaranas that are danced at the Vaquerías, popular festivals in honor of the town's patron saint.
