A crystal-clear waterhole that flows directly into the sea. It is located 30 minutes from Holbox Island and can only be reached by boat, with as much freshness as beauty. It was an important merchant port for the state. Now only history remains, as all trace of that community and port has disappeared.

Municipality

The municipality of Lázaro Cárdenas is one of the ten municipalities in which the state of Quintana Roo is divided, It is located in the extreme north of the state and its capital is the town of Kantunilkín, the name comes from General Lázaro Cárdenas del Río, President of the Republic, among the tourist attractions the most important is the statue of Lázaro Cárdenas, there are scattered in the northern part vestiges of the Mayan culture, but to date they have not been restored as is the case of those located in the communities of Kantunilkín, Naranjal, San Angel and el Cedral and in Chiquilá there is a church from the colonial era, on the island of Holbox there are some hotel facilities for adventure and beach tourism.

Festivities

In December, the festival of the Virgin of the Conception is celebrated, and in April, the festival of San Joaquín, the patron saint of Holbox. There are Mayan traditions such as the Lol cah, in which the people are blessed with Mayan prayers; the planting of the Ceiba, which is the sacred tree; offerings to the god Chac, of rain, to avoid droughts, etc.
