Acuamanala de Miguel Hidalgo is a municipality in the state of Tlaxcala, its name Acuamanala means container or place of deposit of good water, it has beautiful historical places such as the Parish of San Antonio, its construction dates back to the 18th century and the Rancho Espíritu Santo was built during the 18th and 19th centuries, in the municipality two important dates are celebrated, January 17, which celebrates San Antonio Abad and June 13, which celebrates San Antonio de Padua.
In Acuamanala, Miguel Hidalgo, the dance of the charros and chivarrudos is an essential part of the carnival celebrations, as well as the groups of huehues dancing French quadrilles, which are an essential part of the celebrations. For the musical accompaniment, a wind instrument orchestra is strictly required, which will accompany the people through the streets of the town until the day when the final hour of the carnival festivities comes to an end. In the case of the chivarrudos, the music that accompanies them consists of a simple small huehuetl, which is struck by the performer with a pair of bolillos; the rhythmic base used to accompany the dance of the chivarrudos is somewhat similar to the trot of a horse.
