Municipality

Altzayanca is one of the 60 municipalities that make up the Mexican state of Tlaxcala. It is located in the east of the state and approximately 48 kilometers east of the city of Tlaxcala de Xicohténcatl, its name comes from the Nahuatl which means "Place where the Waters Break", it has beautiful architectural places such as the Parish of Santiago Apóstol built in the 18th century, an icon of the region, various cultural heritage estates such as the Hacienda San Antonio Zoapila and Hacienda Vistahermosa, in this municipality only in the town of Santa Cruz Pocitos the town festival takes place which begins on July 16.
