The Church of San Lorenzo Mártir was built during the 17th century; the main façade is plastered yellow, the walls and the roof are made of stone, the width of the walls is 80 cms., the shape of the roof is vaulted with lunettes; it has two towers, the tower on the right side is the smallest, it is made of two bodies, in the first one in the center there is a semicircular arch.

The Municipality of San Lorenzo Axocomanitla is one of the 60 municipalities that make up the state of Tlaxcala, this municipality is the smallest not only in the state, but in the entire republic, its name Axocomanitla comes from Nahuatl and translates as "place where sour waters spread", its main religious construction is the San Lorenzo Temple, the time of its construction was during the 17th century and from which its patronal festival begins on August 10, the patron saint San Lorenzo is celebrated, if the date of the saint falls on a weekday, only on this day a mass will be held at noon for the patron saint
