Municipality

San Lucas Tecopilco is one of the 60 municipalities of the state of Tlaxcala, its name comes from the Nahuatl language meaning "In the place of the stone diadem", the most important construction of the municipality is the Temple of San Lucas Evangelista, the time of its construction was during the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries and from which the celebrations in honor of the patron saint of the town San Lucas begin on October 18, if this day falls on a weekday it is celebrated the following Sunday.
