The Santa Apolonia Teacalco Church has an architectural plan in the form of a semicircular Latin cross. The main façade is made of yellow plaster in grey combinations. The walls and the roof are made of stone. The walls are 1.20 meters thick and the roof is vaulted. The right tower is the oldest: it consists of two square bodies with a semicircular arch in the centre of each side and is topped with a small dome and lantern.

Festivities

Carnival in Santa Apolonia Teacalco takes place on Monday and Tuesday of Carnival. The dances begin on Monday around 11 in the morning at the representatives' house. The musical group that accompanies them is a small band of wind instruments. The celebrations are in honor of Santa Apolonia Virgin, the main day is February 9. The parishioners perform a procession through the main streets.
