The factory produced a wide variety of fabrics and during its best years it had 34 warehouses, 66 rooms and a school for the children of its more than 200 workers. The festival is held in honor of the Holy Cross, which begins nine days before May 3 with the so-called novena. Daily morning masses are held and rosaries are organized starting at 5 p.m. On the main day (May 3), in the morning, between 5 and 6 a.m., the "mañanitas" are sung in honor of the Holy Cross, accompanied by the music band and the mariachis.
