Acatzingo, its name means Place of small reed beds, is one of the 217 municipalities of the state of Puebla (central-eastern Mexico), it has various historical monuments, such as the 16th century Franciscan convent which is a great tourist attraction, Sanctuary to the Virgen de los Dolores from the 18th century and the Portal Hidalgo with 47 arches, the largest of the colonial cities of Puebla, built in the 16th century. The Friday of Dolores festival is celebrated, a commercial, agricultural and craft fair, these festivals are variable throughout the year.
