San Juanico is a small fishing community located in the municipality of Comondú, famous for its surfing tourists who enjoy the splendor and breadth of this bay, with the waves that have made it famous throughout the world. Among other attractions are dorado, horse mackerel, tuna, yellow and blue fin, sailfish, and bottom fishing for mako, garropa, grouper, goatfish, sole, croaker and shark. There are also Boca de Cadejé and Boca de San Raymundo, where tourists can go rod fishing and javelin diving.
The municipality of Comondú is one of the 5 municipalities that make up the state of Baja California Sur, the name of Comondú takes its name from caamanc cadeu which means reed bed in canyon, it has various tourist and historical places such as the naval base of Puerto Cortés and remains of the Horchillero settlements, as well as its large number of tourist centers such as Puerto San Carlos and Puerto Adolfo López Mateos.
In the months of July and August, the Expo-Comondú Fair is held, with the participation of all the productive sectors of the municipality. During the months of February and March, the Gray Whale Festival is held, an event attended by thousands of tourists from various parts of Mexico and abroad. The days of Holy Week, National Holidays, All Saints' Day, All Souls' Day, Guadalupe Festivals and Christmas are also celebrated.
