Three km northwest of San Juanico in the municipality of Comondú, is El Aguaje, a small oasis that provided a sedentary lifestyle for the first settlers of this region and where today you can find shark fangs that existed thousands of years ago and that today are seen petrified in the hills.

Municipality

The municipality of Comondú is one of the 5 municipalities that make up the state of Baja California Sur, the name of Comondú takes its name from caamanc cadeu which means reed bed in canyon, it has various tourist and historical places such as the naval base of Puerto Cortés and remains of the Horchillero settlements, as well as its large number of tourist centers such as Puerto San Carlos and Puerto Adolfo López Mateos.

Festivities

In the months of July and August, the Expo-Comondú Fair is held, with the participation of all the productive sectors of the municipality. During the months of February and March, the Gray Whale Festival is held, an event attended by thousands of tourists from various parts of Mexico and abroad. The days of Holy Week, National Holidays, All Saints' Day, All Souls' Day, Guadalupe Festivals and Christmas are also celebrated.
