Municipality

Huitzilac is a municipality located in the state of Morelos, in Mexico, its name comes from the Nahuatl uitzi-tzillin which means "in hummingbird water", it has beautiful architectural places such as the church of San Juan Bautista dating from 1690, the municipal palace of the year 1905, there are some archaeological sites dating approximately from the year 1,250 to 1,300 AD, the main tourist center of this municipality are the Zempoala lagoons, which consists of several bodies of water, forests, green areas and places to camp, the most important festival is on June 24 the religious festivities are held in honor of the patron saint San Juan Bautista.
