Coatepec is one of the 217 municipalities that make up the Mexican state of Puebla, its name is interpreted as On the hill of the snakes or snakes, the most important construction is the parish church, it dates back to the 16th century and is dedicated to San Bartolomé de which begins with the Popular Festival of August 24, the patron saint's holiday in honor of San Bartolomé, celebrated with masses, prayers, sports games, processions, mechanical games, burning of fireworks, jaripeos and native dances.
