Municipality

Coatzingo is one of the 217 municipalities that make up the Mexican state of Puebla. Its name is interpreted as Culebrita of the water that is born, or of the spring. It has various monuments, of which the Temple of the Divine Face stands out, dating from the 16th century, the Divine Face, which also dates back to the 16th century and Paintings such as that of General Emiliano Zapata, the patron saint's festival of the Divine Face lasts 15 days with jaripeos, cockfights, processions and prayers, on June 29, the festival of the Patron Saint Pedro Apóstol; on June 24, Saint John's Day, also the patron saint of the ejido.
