The Zoque Coiteco Carnival in Ocozocoautla de Espinosa is the main festival of Ocozocoautla de Espinosa, Chiapas, it is the traditional Zoque Coiteco Carnival. It begins on the Sunday before Ash Wednesday and is considered unique, due to the original way in which it displays elements of the three cultures that sustain the identity of the region: Zoque, Christian and Arab; the latter introduced by the Spanish after the conquest.
