The Catazajá Lagoons are one of the bodies of water that has a great fishing tradition in Chiapas. It is the Catazajá lagoon, 28 kilometers from the city of Palenque. Catazajá is a Mexican municipality located in the north of the Mexican state of Chiapas. Catazajá is a Mayan word that comes from Kaa: valley, tasal: lying and já: water, which means valley covered with water.
