Altamirano is a municipality in the state of Chiapas, the name of the municipality of Altamirano is in homage to the poet Ignacio Manuel Altamirano, it has several places of interest and tourism such as the Mendoza River Waterfalls and the Tzaconeja spa, you can also visit the San Miguel Chiptic ejido, the colonial temple built by the Dominicans in 1886 and the ruins of Santa Elena Pocovinic.
