The Antigua Hacienda de los Santos was built with great expectations in 1685, for one of the owners of silver mines in the region, today, fully restored, it is the hostel for travelers who love the original, culture and health, it has Spanish colonial furniture, delicate bed linen and the firewood burning in the fireplace give a cozy touch to all rooms, its spacious rooms with fireplace are decorated with handmade objects and antiques from the 18th and 11th centuries, it has an interesting collection of religious art consisting of frescoes, altarpieces and votive offerings.

Municipality

The Municipality of Álamos is one of the 72 municipalities of the Mexican state of Sonora, located in the southeastern part of the state, its municipal seat is the magical town of Álamos originally called Real de la Limpia Concepción de los Álamos and also Real de los Frailes, also known as: The City of Portals, was founded at the end of the 17th century when a silver mine was discovered in that region, other important towns are: San Bernardo, El Mocúzarit (Conicárit), Los Tanques, among others, there are various communities with the presence of Guarijío and Mayo indigenous people, such as Mesa Colorada, Guajaray, Bavícora, El Paso and Basiroa.

Among the most important festivals in the region are the Alfonso Ortiz Tirado Cultural Festival on January 18-26, the Alamos Magical International Film Festival (FICAM) on September 16, the traditional Grito de Independencia ceremony in November, the Anniversary of the Museo Costumbrista de Sonora on November 20, regional festivals for the Mexican Revolution on November 21, the Patron Saint Festival at La Aduana in honor of the Virgin of Balvanera, the Dr. Alfonso Ortiz Tirado International Festival in January, various cultural events and the Fiestas de la Immaculate Conception on December 8 with a Fair, dances and fireworks.
