The Municipality of Álamos is one of the 72 municipalities of the Mexican state of Sonora, located in the southeastern part of the state, its municipal seat is the magical town of Álamos originally called Real de la Limpia Concepción de los Álamos and also Real de los Frailes, also known as: The City of Portals, was founded at the end of the 17th century when a silver mine was discovered in that region, other important towns are: San Bernardo, El Mocúzarit (Conicárit), Los Tanques, among others, there are various communities with the presence of Guarijío and Mayo indigenous people, such as Mesa Colorada, Guajaray, Bavícora, El Paso and Basiroa.
