Juan N. Méndez or Atenayuca is a municipality in the state of Puebla, its name means “place of fenced or walled water, it has beautiful and picturesque buildings such as a parish church, dedicated to Santa Isabel, dating from the 16th century, located at the head of the municipal, on November 5, the religious festival of Santa Isabel is celebrated with a popular festival, processions, fireworks and masses, as an eco-tourist attraction it has two rivers, the Duraznillo and the Magdalena River, the latter crossing the community, the Cerro El Teperueda with paintings caves at a distance of 500 meters from the headwaters.
On November 1 and 2, All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day are commemorated with offerings and visits to the cemetery. Holy Week is commemorated with traditional devotion. On November 5, the religious festival of Santa Isabel is celebrated with a popular festival, processions, fireworks and masses.
