In August, one of the chile en nogada festivals takes place, where products from the region are used.
Nealtican is a town and a municipality in the state of Puebla, in the southeast of Mexico. Its name means “Place where I get into the water” or “Place of baths or where they bathe”, it has an iconic construction of the town. As is the parish church dedicated to San Buenaventura, it dates back to the 16th century. The most important festival is on July 14, the patron saint's day is celebrated. In honor of the image venerated by Catholics as "Patron Saint": SAN BUENAVENTURA, on August 28 the festival of the San Agustín neighborhood which is located south of the municipal seat, is celebrated with fireworks, jaripeos, palenque, popular dances, prayer masses, processions, music bands and “xochitotoli” (turkey dances) dances.
The patronal feast is celebrated on July 14th. In honor of the image venerated by Catholics as the "Patron Saint": SAN BUENAVENTURA, who was an Italian theologian, philosopher and mystic, born in Bagnorea in 1221, died in León in 1274 at the age of 53; his real name was Juan Giovanni Fidanza. The church gave him the titles of Doctor (in theology, Bishop and Cardinal). If the patronal feast falls on a weekday it is moved to the following Sunday. On August 28th the feast of the San Agustín neighborhood which is located south of the municipal seat. On December 12th there are festivities in honor of the Virgin of Guadalupe. It is celebrated with fireworks, rodeos, palenque, popular dances, masses, prayers, processions, music bands and xochitotoli dances (turkey sound). On November 1 and 2, All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day are celebrated, with offerings and visits to cemeteries. Holy Week is celebrated with contemplation and representation of the passion of Christ.
