Municipality

Oriental is a municipality in the state of Puebla, in central Mexico, it owes its current name to the old Eastern Railway, its original name originates from the Nahua voices: xalla, arenal and con, which means "In the sandy area", Its main architectural constructions are the church of Cristo Rey and the Municipal Palace built in the 20th century and the monument to Silvestre Pérez, founder of Oriental (1958), commemorates October 29, anniversary of the founding of the town, November 7, day of railroad, last Sunday in November, patron saint's day of Christ the King, December 12, patron saint's day of the Virgin of Guadalupe.
