It was built in the 17th century and is considered a masterpiece of Mexican Baroque. The ultimate expression of the work of Puebla's master builders and potters, who masterfully covered the facade of the temple with handmade ceramic pieces using mainly Talavera pottery. It was decorated between 1650 and 1750 when Puebla's Talavera and Baroque were at their peak.
