In this area stands the great pyramid of Cholula, dedicated to Chiconauhquiáhuitl or god of the nine rains. The pyramid has the appearance of a pyramidal hill, because it is composed of a series of pyramids superimposed on one another. A total of eight kilometers of tunnels have been excavated inside the pyramid; thanks to which, pre-Hispanic murals have been found, such as the so-called mural of the pulque drinkers.
