The Municipal Palace of Aquixtla was built during the colonial era. The exact date is unknown, but it is believed to have been built around 1895; the year in which Aquixtla was established as a free and sovereign municipality.

Aquixtla is one of the 217 municipalities of the Mexican state of Puebla, it is located in the north of the entity, its main architectural construction is the Parish Church dedicated to San Juan Evangelista, built in 1864, its Patron Saint's Day is December 27 to 2 of January, on the 27th in honor of San Juan, and on January 2 to Father Jesús de la Capilla, which are celebrated with masses, prayers, processions and dances of "Huehues", "Toreadores" and popular dances, counts for tourism, with a two-hit waterfall-shaped jump in the bed of the Cuautolanico River about 60 to 70 meters high, the jump is called "Salto de Tepexcanal".
