Long ago, during the colonial era and the Spanish conquest of Mexico, there were many priests in the former convent of Tecamachalco, who were called Franciscan friars who evangelized the inhabitants of the region and every Sunday they held masses for the entire community that lived nearby and for all the people who came from different parts of the entity far from the community.

Municipality
