Cañada Morelos is a municipality in the state of Puebla, its name comes from: tepectlan, a Nahuatl name from the radicals "tepetl", hill, stone; "tlan", a place, which means "place of stones or scree", has historical architectural monuments such as the parish temple dedicated to San José from the 16th century, the May 5, 1990 portal and the monument to Don Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla The main festival is March 19, the patron saint of San José. Festivities

March 19th is the patronal feast of Saint Joseph. Holy Week, where the Passion and Death of Jesus Christ take place; November 1st and 2nd, All Saints' Day; from December 16th to 24th, traditional posadas and pastorelas are held. Another tradition is the native dances that are celebrated on December 8th in honor of the Virgin of the Conception and on December 12th in honor of the Virgin of Guadalupe; a pilgrimage is also held on July 2nd, walking to the community of Tlacotepec, to visit the image of the Child of Tlacotepec.
