Less than an hour by car, northwest of the city of Felipe Carrillo Puerto, is the town of Tihosuco. One of the aspects that most distinguishes Tihosuco is its monumental Church and convent of the "divine child", located in the center of the town, west of the main square.

Also common are the Yucatecan-influenced jaranas, which are danced at the Vaquerías, popular festivals that are generally held in honor of patron saints.
