Built in the 19th century, the golden age of the El Boleo Mining Company, it was used as a company store at that time. In the 80s, these historic buildings became property of the municipal government, which decided to enable it as a House of Culture. On October 21, 1992, within the framework of the celebrations of the 107th anniversary of the founding of Santa Rosalía, the House of Culture was inaugurated, which was named Federico Galaz Ramírez.
The municipality of Mulegé is one of the five municipalities of the state of Baja California Sur. Its most important cities are Santa Rosalía, Guerrero Negro and Mulegé. It became the main port of the peninsula region due to its economic activities. During Holy Week, the death of Jesus Christ is reenacted, a tradition that dates back 100 years and was brought to these lands by the Yaqui Indians who arrived in Santa Rosalía with the first copper mines.
