The Chukumaltik Cenote in Comitán de Domínguez is ideal for lovers of deep-sea diving. The cenote is 200 meters in diameter and almost 70 meters deep, with incredibly crystalline water that allows visibility of 40 meters at a constant temperature of 23 to 24 degrees all year round. The bottom of the cenote is home to petrified trees, sulfur chimneys, an evocative altar of the Virgin of Sorrows, a quartz deposit and caverns.

Comitán de Domínguez is a municipality located in the Mexican state of Chiapas, Comitlán which means place of potters, a word that was Hispanicized as Comitán, today it is a thriving municipality characterized by its variety of architectural styles ranging from neoclassical to neo-Gothic and art nouveau and even Mudejar. It has several tourist attractions for visitors such as the Historic Center of Comitán, the gardens and streets, the Uninajab Spa, the Church of Santo Domingo, the Archaeological Zone of Tenam Puente and more.
