The Xintahual archaeological site, located on the top of the hill of the same name on the outskirts of the town of Las Margaritas, still preserves exposed architecture and a ball court despite the tremendous looting it has suffered.
Las Margaritas is one of the municipalities of the Mexican state of Chiapas, it is located in the south-east part of the state and its capital is the town of Las Margaritas, among the tourist attractions that the municipality has are the archaeological ruins of Xintahual, San Joaquín, San Mateo Paloma Real, Los Cimientos and Monte Guerrero, the temple of Santa Margarita, the Santo Domingo Waterfalls and the beauty of the rivers, lagoons and natural landscapes of the municipality.
In Las Margaritas the most important celebration is the celebration of San Sebastian, Santa Cruz, Virgin of Guadalupe and Santa Margarita. Traditionally, the Day of the Dead is celebrated.
