Tonalá is a municipality located in the southeast of Mexico in the state of Chiapas, settled in the transition of the Coastal Plain and the Sierra Madre of Chiapas, the word comes from the Nahuatl meaning Hot Place, from tonali, heat and lan, idea of abundance. It has ideal tourist places such as Puerto Arista with fine and soft sand, Boca del Cielo, Paredón Bay and various eco-tourist and archaeological sites such as the Iglesia Vieja Archaeological Zone.
