The House of Culture of Tonalá functions primarily as a ceramics workshop for the artist Rodolfo Disner Clavería, who has developed his own oil coloring techniques. It is possible to purchase finished pieces there, although the most relevant of Disner's work are large, brightly colored glazed clay murals in the Jaime Sabines Library or the rector's office of the Chiapas University, both in Tuxtla Gutiérrez.
Tonalá is a municipality located in the southeast of Mexico in the state of Chiapas, settled in the transition of the Coastal Plain and the Sierra Madre of Chiapas, the word comes from the Nahuatl meaning Hot Place, from tonali, heat and lan, idea of abundance.
